Four things worth knowing before you order steel.

  Choosing a profile

  Tile-profile sheets give the stepped look of clay tiles — the usual choice for homes, villas and offices where the roof is seen from the street. Box-profile (trapezoidal) sheets carry deeper ribs, so they span longer distances and are the workhorse for warehouses, shops and factories. Corrugated galvanised is the economical all-rounder for stores, farm buildings and simple roofs. Ridge caps close the top line of any of them.

  Working out how much you need

  Measure each slope from ridge to eaves, then add the overhang you want at the eaves. Divide the roof width by the covered width of the sheet you have chosen to get the number of sheets per slope. Most roofers allow a little extra for cuts, breakage and storage — ask our team what we would allow for your roof shape. Order ridge caps for every ridge and hip line, plus screws, flashings and sealant. Send us the drawing or the raw measurements and we will check the count with you before you pay.

  What to check before you buy

  Ask for the thickness (gauge) and the coating, not just the colour. Two sheets that look identical can differ in both. Check a finish against a real sheet in daylight — colour-coated steel reads differently under strong sun. Confirm the sheet length, the overlap the profile needs, and how the sheets will be unloaded on site. Kowkab confirms thickness, coating weight and bar sizes in writing with each quote.

  Ordering, collection and delivery

  Send the product, sizes and quantity — by quote form, email or WhatsApp. We confirm price and when the sheets can be rolled. Collect at our Jigjiga factory, or arrange delivery to site with our sales team. For reinforcing bar, send the bar list or the drawing so we can match diameters and lengths to the schedule.
